Booby Birds

On September 8th 2007, Bernadette and nineteen other ladies are jumping out of a plane 10,000 ft to raise over £400,000 for breast cancer charities in Scotland.

Bernadette herself is committed to raise £20,000 before the event and any support given will be invaluable to her achieving her target.

Booby Birds is likely to be the biggest single fundraising event in Scotland in 2007.

Behind Booby Birds

Booby Birds was inspired by businesswomen Tina Korup following her friend Christine Tulloch’s diagnosis with breast cancer. With her friend’s life in free fall, Tina didn’t know what to do other than emphasise – and even then, she struggled to understand the magnitude of what her friend was facing at just the age of 53 years old. So Tina decided to face her biggest fear and organise a parachute jump from a plane at 10,000 feet. From there, the event has snowballed and it is now planned that 20 of Scotland’s top women will take part in the tandem skydive on 8th September 2007.

With the aim of raising £400,000, Booby Birds will make a real difference to thousands of women in Scotland whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. Unfortunately, we hear all too frequently of someone (mum, sister, aunt, wife, gran, friend, girlfriend or cousin) who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. In fact, there are 3,500 women diagnosed with breast cancer in Scotland each year.

We’d like to give you a big Booby Birds, ‘Thank You’ – with support like yours, we are well on our way to reaching our fundraising target.

Thank You.

Bernadette would like to say a HUGE Thank You to all who have kindly sponsored so far :-
